The Challenge

The problem

Little Egypt runs a full summer of encampments — day camp, junior, jr. high, senior, and retreats — plus returning families who already know the rhythm. Spreadsheets and one-off forms could not keep fees, medical notes, cabin assignments, and staff permissions in sync across weeks.

Key issues

  • • Multiple sessions per year with different ages, fees, and cabin rules
  • • Parents re-entering the same kids every summer
  • • Nurses and session directors needing different views of the same roster
  • • PayPal links drifting out of date when fees changed
  • • Marketing site and registration portal living on separate domains mid-season

What success looked like

  • ✓ Parents register on a phone between errands
  • ✓ Returning families claim kids and express-register open weeks
  • ✓ Staff mark paid, check in, and see medical without fighting the UI
  • ✓ Session fees auto-build PayPal.me links
  • ✓ Audit trail for “who marked paid?”

The Solution

BraddCorp shipped a two-app system: a branded marketing site for schedule and story, and a dedicated registration portal with Clerk auth, Turso data, and dense staff tools — the pattern that became the Braddcorp reg playbook.

LECYC events calendar

Shared season calendar

Marketing events calendar reads the same camp schedule package as registration — open/closed status updates live from the reg portal.

LECYC registration portal home

Registration portal

Session cards with ages, fees, and status — parent login and express register for returning families who already know the rhythm.

Multi-session catalog

Each encampment has its own slug, dates, ages, fee, cabin/payment toggles, and open window — shared from a single schedule source of truth.

Parent claim + express

Families sign in once, claim prior campers (with rate limits and admin unlock), and re-register open sessions in minutes.

Role-scoped staff

Admin, nurse, and session director roles in Clerk metadata — medical-only views, scoped weeks, Cards/Rows preferences.

Ops that match camp week

Paid / check-in, cabin assignment, medical flags, shirt counts, audit log, and fee → PayPal.me regeneration.

Mobile-ready registration

LECYC registration on mobile

Parents finish registration between errands. Express registration and parent login sit up front on the portal home so returning families don’t dig.

  • ✓ Phone-first session picker
  • ✓ Clear open / closed status
  • ✓ Same brand language as the marketing site

Express registration story

LECYC express registration promo page

The marketing site explains claim + express so parents know what to expect before they hit the portal. Privacy details stay on /privacy — not buried in the pitch.

Why it matters

LECYC proved the multi-week camp shape: same stack as Rendezvous where it helps, different product surface where the summer calendar demands it. Lessons from both sites now live in the Braddcorp reg kit — including a live Camp Ruby showcase at regdemo.braddcorp.com.
